IFSP implements new sustainability policy and student governance rules

The Instituto Federal de São Paulo (IFSP) has implemented several institutional updates regarding governance, sustainability, and academic opportunities. The institution's Superior Council approved a new Sustainability Policy (Resolution No. 60/2026) to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into teaching, research, and management, aligning with the UN 2030 Agenda.

In terms of student engagement, IFSP has opened a public consultation for a new resolution to regulate student representative entities, including student unions, academic centers, and athletic associations. This initiative aims to strengthen student participation and institutional recognition of these groups.

Additionally, IFSP has been selected by the Ministry of Education (MEC) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to receive technical support for the “Professionals of the Future II” project. This program focuses on green economy competencies, specifically within the Renewable Energy Systems technical course at the Boituva campus. Other recent activities include the opening of 80 technical course vacancies in Guarulhos and the hosting of academic seminars in Caraguatatuba to discuss extension and student success policies.
