Instituto Protea launches campaign to address breast cancer treatment delays

The Instituto Protea has launched a national campaign titled ‘A Espera’ to highlight the critical delays in breast cancer treatment in Brazil. The initiative addresses the reality that patients may wait over 200 days to begin treatment, a delay that can significantly impact survival rates. Narrated by ambassador Ana Furtado, the campaign aims to mobilize one million Brazilians to contribute monthly donations of R$ 10 to support the organization's mission of accelerating the journey from diagnosis to treatment.

To date, the Instituto Protea has facilitated complete treatment for over 2,500 women and funded more than 40,000 chemotherapy sessions and 70,000 radiotherapy sessions.
