Instituto Tecnológico de Nuevo Laredo launches student transport route

The Instituto Tecnológico de Nuevo Laredo is launching ‘Ruta Tec’, a specialized transportation service designed for the student community. The initiative is a coordinated effort involving the Nuevo Laredo Public Transport Delegation, the personnel transport company Vía Raso, and the student-led project UrbaBus.

Scheduled to begin operations on August 24 to coincide with the start of classes, the service will feature two optimized routes. The implementation includes technology developed by UrbaBus, which allows students to track bus locations in real time to reduce waiting times and improve safety. The UrbaBus project is also set to represent the institution in the regional stage of InnovaTecNM 2026 in Tamaulipas.
