Insubria teachers attend cross-border sustainability training

Over seventy teachers from across the Insubria region participated in a cross-border training day titled ‘Raccontare la sostenibilità’ (Telling Sustainability) held at the Green Professional Center in Mezzana, Canton Ticino.

Promoted by the Comunità di Lavoro Regio Insubrica through its ‘Giornate Insubriche del Verde Pulito’ working group, the event focused on environmental safeguarding. The program included theoretical sessions led by experts from the Ticino Cantonal School Division and the Lombardy Regional Agency for Agricultural and Forestry Services (ERSAF) regarding sustainability culture and responsible forest management.

Participants engaged in practical workshops organized by various entities, including éducation21, Cooperativa Sociale Koinè, Cooperativa Valgrande, and the SUPSI ‘Energia futuro’ project. The day concluded with a guided visit to Parco del Laveggio, following the pedestrian path from the springs of Stabio to the mouth of Riva San Vitale. This event serves as the first step in a larger project that will lead to the development of classroom teaching materials and a final award ceremony in May 2027.
