Crown Point Energía resumes oil drilling in Chubut with USD 45 million plan
In Chubut, Argentina, Crown Point Energía S.A. has resumed drilling operations in the Puesto Quiroga area within the El Tordillo concession after a three-year hiatus. The company has committed an investment of USD 45 million for its first year of activity. This program includes the drilling of eight new wells annually, with an average cost of USD 4.8 million per well, alongside 24 workover interventions to recover production in the mature Gulf San Jorge Basin.
Governor Ignacio Torres visited the site to observe the progress of the first well, which has already exceeded 1,500 meters in depth and aims for a final target of 3,600 meters. The areas, previously operated by Tecpetrol, were transferred to Crown Point via provincial decree.
Separately, in Chaco, the company INSUGA is implementing an expansion strategy to export over 85% of its production, which includes bovine tallow and meat and bone meal. The company is targeting markets in Southeast Asia, Central America, and South America, utilizing local ports for distribution. Governor Leandro Zdero supported the initiative, noting the company's triple impact certification.
In Santa Cruz, mining exploration is intensifying in the Deseado Massif. Currently, 14 gold and silver projects are active, including the El Dorado-Monserrat project, which is receiving investment from Fredonia Mining, and FOMICRUZ's planned 4,000-meter drilling campaign in San Agustín.
