Insurance Association of Turkey backs fight against claim fraud

The Insurance Association of Turkey (TSB) has announced its full support for ongoing efforts to combat illegal entities exploiting damage and compensation processes following traffic accidents. TSB President Ahmet Yaşar stated that these investigations, conducted in cooperation with the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK) and the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, are part of a structural transformation aimed at ensuring the sustainability and trust of the insurance market.

To prevent unauthorized consultancy, illegal use of personal data, and organized abuse, several systemic measures have been implemented. These include standardizing loss adjustment calculations based on the principle of actual loss, the Smart Adjuster Assignment System, the removal of additional application requirements for depreciation compensation, and the activation of the Alo 193 Common Damage Notification Line (OHİM). Yaşar emphasized that the goal is to protect the rights of policyholders and ensure that compensation reaches the rightful owners through transparent and auditable processes.
