Insurance coverage needs and market trends for clubs and homeowners

Insurance coverage requirements and market trends vary significantly across different sectors. For clubs and associations, distinguishing between types of damage is essential for adequate protection. This includes liability insurance for personal injury, contents insurance for property damage (such as water damage to equipment), and financial liability insurance to cover monetary losses resulting from administrative errors.

In the residential building insurance market, premiums are rising due to increased costs and wages in the construction industry. A comparison by Stiftung Warentest of 182 residential building insurance policies revealed significant price disparities and quality differences. While some tariffs offer excellent protection, 57 of the evaluated policies were rated as deficient, often failing to adequately cover damages caused by gross negligence. Experts recommend ensuring that elemental damage protection—covering risks like floods, avalanches, and landslides—is included in the policy.
