Insurance industry leaders discuss economic trends and medical innovation
Aldo Álvarez, president of ADEAA, has provided an assessment of the insurance sector's relationship with economic performance. He noted that insurance growth typically mirrors economic activity, stating that while the current economy has not yet fully taken off, some segments show positive movement. Álvarez highlighted a dual agenda involving ongoing discussions with regulators and the government's push for stricter solvency requirements, which he supports provided they are implemented with prudence.
In the health insurance sector, AXA Spain announced updates to its health coverage effective January 1. The new offerings focus on medical innovation and personalized treatments, including high-precision diagnostics such as PET PSMA and advancements in interventional cardiology. The expansion also includes proton therapy for pediatric and adult tumors, as well as enhanced coverage for complex surgeries involving specialized prosthetics and materials for oncological and cranial procedures.
