Insurance sector leaders discuss new legal framework and climate risks in Brazil

Stakeholders in the Brazilian insurance market recently convened to address regulatory changes and evolving environmental risks. At the 9th Insurance Legal Seminar in Brasília, representatives from the Superintendency of Private Insurance (Susep), the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), and the National Confederation of Insurers (CNseg) discussed the new Insurance Legal Framework (Law No. 15,040/2024). The discussions focused on legal certainty and contractual changes regarding both general damage insurance and life insurance.

In Porto Alegre, Bradesco Seguros participated in the Regional Insurance Forum organized by the Rio Grande do Sul Insurance Brokers Union (Sincor-RS). Executives highlighted the growing importance of insurance as a tool for financial planning and risk mitigation in response to climate change. The forum emphasized the need for technology and data-driven solutions to help brokers and clients prepare for increasingly complex risk scenarios caused by changing weather patterns.
