Insurance sector reports sustainability progress and global premium growth

Aksigorta has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining strategic goals to reach net zero by 2050. The company aims to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 65% by 2030 compared to a 2019 baseline. Key achievements noted include increasing the share of sustainable innovation in total innovation spending to 83%, raising the female employee ratio to 58%, and increasing female management representation to 44%.

On a broader scale, the global insurance market is seeing significant shifts. According to Bain & Company’s ‘2026 Global Insurance Report’, global insurance premiums rose from $6.7 trillion in 2024 to $7.1 trillion in 2025. While profitability has improved due to increases in property and casualty premiums, structural challenges remain. Issues such as affordability, limited economic returns on technology investments, and competition within the value chain pose risks to long-term growth. Experts suggest that insurers must focus on managing costs related to claims, distribution, operations, and capital to ensure sustainable growth.
