Integrity Commission launches school pilot to teach ethics

The Integrity Commission has launched the ‘Integrity Corner’ initiative, a pilot program designed to teach primary and preparatory students about honesty, fairness, responsibility, and ethical behavior. The program aims to prevent corruption by fostering these values during childhood rather than relying solely on investigations and enforcement.

The pilot is currently being implemented in four schools: Alvernia Preparatory and Mona Heights Primary in Kingston, and McIntosh Memorial Primary and Prattville Primary in Manchester.

Each participating school has been provided with an ‘Integrity Starter Kit’ containing educational resources such as posters and storybooks. The initiative utilizes a student-driven approach, encouraging children to contribute their own artwork and creative projects to the dedicated interactive spaces to express their understanding of integrity.
