Intel advances Nova Lake and Panther Lake processor technologies

Intel is advancing its next-generation processor roadmap, with the Nova Lake series expected to launch before the end of 2026. Recent certifications from USB-IF and PCI-SIG confirm that Nova Lake identifiers have met standards for USB4 and PCI Express 5.0, covering both laptop processors and desktop chipsets.

Simultaneously, technical analysis of the Panther Lake chip reveals significant progress for Intel’s 18A manufacturing node. The 18A node shows logic density levels nearly comparable to TSMC’s N3E node, representing an 18.6% increase over Intel 3. The Panther Lake architecture debuts RibbonFET Gate-All-Around transistors and PowerVia backside power delivery technology. While TSMC maintains a lead in maximum density, the 18A node positions Intel Foundry as a more competitive player in the high-end semiconductor market.
