Intel Arc G3 Extreme targets handheld gaming market

Intel has introduced the Arc G3 Extreme, a silicon platform specifically designed for handheld gaming. Unlike standard laptop processors, this chip is optimized for the power constraints of portable devices.

At the core of the platform is the Arc B390 GPU, which utilizes Intel’s Xe3 architecture. It features 12 Xe-cores, hardware ray tracing, and provides up to 113 TOPS of INT8 GPU compute. The chip is also equipped with 14 CPU cores, an NPU, and supports LPDDR5X-8533 memory.

In testing conducted on the MSI Claw at a 35W performance setting, the Arc G3 Extreme demonstrated significant performance capabilities. Synthetic benchmarks, including Cinebench and 3DMark, indicate that the platform delivers laptop-class CPU performance and high-tier graphics capabilities for the handheld segment.
