Intel cuts 52 manufacturing and operational roles in Santa Clara
Intel Corporation is implementing a new round of permanent workforce reductions, eliminating 52 manufacturing and operational roles across several facilities in Santa Clara. According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed in California, the affected employees are scheduled to complete their final day of work on September 30.
The job cuts are distributed across four specific sites. The company’s primary corporate headquarters at the Robert Noyce Building will see 22 positions eliminated. Additional reductions include 24 staff members at the SC-12 facility on Juliette Lane, five workers at the SC-9 facility, and one employee at the SC-11 office.
These layoffs occur amidst a broader trend of corporate restructuring within the California technology sector. Recent workforce reductions have also been reported at PayPal, which announced cuts to 251 employees in San Jose, and Oracle, which conducted layoffs citing “broader organizational change.”
