Intel expands Arc G3 processor lineup for gaming handhelds

Intel is expanding its Arc G3 processor lineup, which is designed specifically for the gaming handheld market. Following the release of the Arc G3 and the high-performance Arc G3 Extreme, reports indicate that Intel is considering an entry-level version of the chip to make portable consoles more affordable.

The proposed entry-level model would feature a reduced configuration, including 4 Xe3 GPU cores and a CPU consisting of 4 P-cores and 4 LPE-cores, with no E-cores. This contrasts with the Arc G3 Extreme, which utilizes the Panther Lake architecture and TSMC's 3nm process to deliver 12 Xe-cores and 14 CPU cores.

The Arc G3 series aims to compete in the handheld segment by offering various performance tiers, ranging from high-end devices like the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ to more budget-friendly systems.
