Intel LGA 1954 socket components leaked on AliExpress
Components for Intel’s upcoming LGA 1954 desktop CPU socket have appeared on AliExpress. The leaked item, described as an ‘LGA 1954 CPU Socket Holder with Tin Balls’ and manufactured by Foxconn, is a production-level part used by motherboard manufacturers to establish physical and electrical connections to the PCB.
The LGA 1954 interface is expected to support the next-generation Nova Lake-S desktop processors, replacing the current LGA 1851 platform. This new socket features 1,954 pins, an increase of approximately 5.6% over its predecessor. Intel’s own Design-In Tools website previously listed an ILM kit for the LGA1954 NVL-S interposer, further confirming the link between the new socket and the Nova Lake-S architecture.
LGA 1954 is anticipated to support various 900-series chipsets, including Z990, Z970, B960, Q970, and W980. Reports suggest the socket may be utilized for several generations, potentially extending to the Razor Lake-S platform. Mass production for Nova Lake is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, with a market launch in early 2027.
