Intel may refresh Raptor Lake CPUs to extend LGA1700 platform

Intel is reportedly preparing a refreshed Raptor Lake lineup that would extend the lifespan of the LGA1700 platform. According to leaks from Jaykihn, the new processors may include a successor to the Core i5-14600K featuring an 8P-core and 8E-core configuration.

A significant aspect of this refresh is the potential continued support for DDR4 memory alongside DDR5. This would allow users to upgrade their processors without the added expense of transitioning to new memory standards. The leaked lineup is expected to span several tiers, including a Core 3 with 4 cores, a 10-core Core 5, and a high-end Core 7 featuring 20 cores (8P and 12E).

The updated chips are rumored to arrive potentially as early as 2027, likely alongside new LGA1700 motherboard models. Existing 14th Gen CPUs are expected to remain available in the market following the introduction of these refreshed models.
