Intel Nova Lake roadmap suggests staggered 2027 CPU release

Leaked information regarding Intel’s upcoming Nova Lake architecture suggests a staggered release schedule for its desktop processors. While previous indications pointed toward a 2026 launch, recent data presented at a partner event in China indicates that mass production may begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the first consumer chips arriving in the first quarter of 2027.

According to the leaked roadmap, the initial release in early 2027 will feature a 28-core configuration. The high-end 52-core model, which utilizes two compute tiles, is expected to follow later in 2027, potentially between May and September. This high-core count variant is reportedly targeted at the High-End Desktop (HEDT) market and professional workstations rather than mainstream gaming.

Technical details suggest the Nova Lake-S architecture will utilize a hybrid structure, including new Coyote Cove performance cores. Additionally, some reports indicate that the subsequent Razor Lake refresh may face delays, with a tentative timeline of late 2027 or beyond.
