Intel Nova Lake processors reportedly offer up to 33% gaming performance increase

Leaked internal documents and industry rumors suggest that Intel’s upcoming Nova Lake processor architecture could provide significant performance gains over the current Arrow Lake series. According to reports citing internal Intel projections from August, specific 28-core Nova Lake-S configurations could see gaming performance improvements of up to 33% compared to the Core Ultra 9 285K, particularly in a high-power DS variant.

Other performance metrics indicate single-thread improvements ranging from 8% in standard models to 17% in versions equipped with bLLC, a technology similar to AMD’s 3D V-Cache. Additionally, the implementation of Intel Advanced Performance Extensions (APX) is expected to boost performance by approximately 15% by doubling the number of available general-purpose registers, which reduces the number of operations required for certain workloads.

Technical details suggest the new architecture may utilize the Intel 18A-P lithography process. While these figures are based on internal projections and leaks, they remain subject to change. Further details are anticipated around CES 2027, and the new processors are expected to require the LGA 1954 socket.
