Intel plans Raptor Lake Next CPU refresh for 2027

Intel is reportedly preparing a new desktop processor family internally named “Raptor Lake Next,” expected in the first half of 2027. The refresh would extend the lifespan of the LGA 1700 platform, allowing continued use of DDR4 memory on both LGA 1700 and AM4 motherboards while the upcoming Nova Lake series focuses on DDR5.

Leaks suggest the lineup will retain the existing Core 200 naming and use the same hybrid architecture – Performance cores (Raptor Cove) and Efficient cores (Gracemont) – without major architectural changes. Proposed models range from a Core 3 entry processor with 4 performance cores, up to a Core 7 offering 8 performance and 12 efficient cores (20 cores total) with TDPs between 65 W and 125 W. Intel may also release HX‑type variants for higher‑performance segments.

The speculation comes from sources at Computex and industry leakers; Intel has not confirmed the details. If realised, the Raptor Lake Next line would aim at the value‑oriented mainstream market, complementing the high‑end Nova Lake CPUs expected at next year’s CES.
