Intel unveils 22‑core Nova Lake‑S desktop CPUs slated for 2027

Intel is developing its next desktop processor platform, Nova Lake‑S, part of the Core Ultra 4 series. Leaks revealed two mid‑range models, each built with a hybrid architecture that combines six performance cores using the new Coyote Cove design, twelve efficiency cores based on Arctic Wolf, and four low‑power cores for background tasks. Both chips total 22 cores and differ in power envelope: a K‑series version rated at 125 W and a non‑K version at 65 W. Intel plans to bring the CPUs to market in the first quarter of 2027, following a logo leak in July 2026 that confirmed the platform’s timing.

The launch targets gamers and streamers seeking higher performance per watt, and it marks Intel’s first desktop use of a three‑tier core mix previously seen only in laptop designs.
