Intel unveils new AI processors and rack‑scale platform at Computex 2026

Intel announced a suite of AI‑focused hardware and ecosystem partnerships at Computex 2026 in Taipei, Taiwan. The company introduced the Xeon 6 processor family and Xeon 6+ chips built on Intel’s 18A process, targeting demanding AI and enterprise workloads in cloud, edge and data‑center environments.

A rack‑scale AI infrastructure platform was revealed, combining Xeon CPUs with reconfigurable data‑flow units from SambaNova to deliver high‑performance, power‑efficient inference. Intel also detailed its upcoming Crescent Island AI accelerator, based on the Xe3P architecture and slated for release in the second half of 2026, featuring high‑capacity LPDDR5X memory for large AI models.

Strategic collaborations were highlighted, including partners Foxconn (system integration and CPU‑dense variants), Siemens (industrial automation), Hitachi (foundry tools and quantum computing), Echo Neurotechnologies (brain‑computer interfaces), and Greenstone Biosciences (AI‑driven drug development).
