Intellectual Property Office hosts semiconductor and battery patent trading event

The Intellectual Property Office is launching the ‘2026 Intellectual Property Trading Network (IP-LINK)’ to connect promising patent technologies in the semiconductor and secondary battery sectors with industry demand. The event will be held on the 28th at the Novotel Ambassador in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.

Approximately 150 participants are expected, including 60 representatives from demand-side companies, 43 technology transfer organizations from universities and public research institutes, transaction intermediaries, and investment institutions such as venture capitals and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund. The program includes consultations in four key areas: technology trading, IP finance and commercialization, fund procurement and guarantees, and investment attraction.

In addition to networking, the event will feature seminars on battery safety, standardization, AI semiconductor commercialization strategies, and lithium-ion battery market trends. Following the event, a meeting will be held to collect feedback on difficulties in patent trading to inform future policy and support programs.
