Inter-American Development Bank updates policies and monitors regional projects

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is implementing new information access policies and monitoring project execution across Latin America.

In Paraguay, institutions executing IDB-funded projects must now comply with updated guidelines for managing and disclosing information. These new rules establish criteria for responding to information requests, handling third-party data, and determining exceptions to prevent potential harm from data publication. The Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (Mitic) is integrating these rules into the Digital Agenda program, which focuses on state digitalization, connectivity, and digital inclusion.

In Brazil, an IDB monitoring mission recently concluded in Curitiba to review the Novo Inter 2 project. The mission evaluated the progress of the US$ 133.4 million program, which aims to increase the capacity and speed of the Inter 2 direct line. IDB representatives praised the quality of the works and the transparency of the management system, which uses objective indicators to manage contractor payments. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2027.
