Inter Milan and Lazio to play Italian Super Cup at San Siro

The Lega Serie A has officially confirmed that the 2026 Italian Super Cup will take place on Tuesday, December 22, at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium (San Siro) in Milan. The match will feature Inter Milan, the reigning Serie A champions and Coppa Italia winners, against Lazio, who secured their spot as Coppa Italia runners-up.

This edition marks a significant departure from recent years, as the competition returns to Italy after four consecutive editions held in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the tournament is reverting to its traditional single-match format, abandoning the ‘Final Four’ mini-tournament structure used in the previous three seasons.

The decision follows various international considerations, including potential hosting interest from Morocco and the United States, though the Italian venue was ultimately selected. For Inter, the match offers a chance to secure a domestic treble, while for Lazio, it serves as a rematch of the May 2026 Coppa Italia final.
