Inter cancels pursuit of Paraguayan striker Alex Arce

Inter's reported interest in Paraguayan forward Alex Arce was addressed after Independiente Rivadavia’s director, Agustín Vila, publicly denied any ongoing negotiation for the player’s transfer. Vila said the club is not discussing a move to Inter and emphasized that Arce will remain with Independiente for the foreseeable future. While earlier reports suggested Inter was evaluating Arce as a replacement for the departed Rafael Borré and mentioned a possible US$3 million fee, no formal offer or agreement has been confirmed. Arce, 31, is a key scorer for Independiente in the current Copa Libertadores and also caps for the Paraguay national team.
