Inter Club d'Escaldes makes history for Andorra in UEFA Conference League

Inter Club d'Escaldes has become the first football club from Andorra to qualify for the league phase of a UEFA competition. The Andorran champions secured their historic advancement in the UEFA Conference League after defeating Kosovo's KF Drita in a penalty shootout.

Following a 0-0 draw through both regulation and extra time, Inter Club d'Escaldes won the shootout 4-2. This achievement follows their previous round victory over Estonia's Flora Tallinn, whom they defeated with a 6-0 aggregate score. The club's journey began earlier in the summer in the Champions League qualifiers, where they were eliminated by Gibraltar's Lincoln Red Imps.

With this qualification, Andorra joins a select group of nations with representatives in the main stages of European competitions, leaving only Montenegro and San Marino as the remaining UEFA members that have never achieved such a milestone. The club is expected to receive significant financial benefits from participating in the league phase, which includes six matches against different opponents.
