Inter Miami, LA Galaxy and Shakhtar target Santos prospect Matheus Xavier

Santos FC is evaluating a possible sale of forward Matheus Xavier in the upcoming transfer window. According to portal Diário do Peixe, three clubs have expressed interest: MLS side Inter Miami, another MLS club LA Galaxy, and Ukrainian champion Shakhtar Donetsk. The club, facing a financial crisis, aims to capitalize on Xavier’s market value while maintaining a focus on its youth system. President Alexandre Mattos said Santos will prioritize its academy and only consider offers that benefit the team’s stability. The interest comes as the club seeks additional reinforcements, notably a midfielder and a left‑back, to strengthen the squad for the second half of the season.
