Inter Milan faces midfield crisis as Curtis Jones suffers injury

Inter Milan faces significant squad challenges as they prepare for the resumption of Serie A against Parma. Midfielder Curtis Jones has been sidelined with a myofascial injury to the right thigh adductor, with an estimated recovery period of three to four weeks. This injury will force manager Cristian Chivu to restructure the midfield, potentially relying on players like Petar Sucic, Nicolò Barella, or Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

In recent press conferences, Chivu has addressed several team matters, including the return of Hakan Calhanoglu and Dimarco following the international break. He also confirmed that defender Spence is available for selection after training with the squad. Chivu has pushed back against media narratives regarding ‘anti-Inter’ labels in the title race, arguing that it is premature to single out specific rivals like Roma or Milan so early in the season.

Additionally, Chivu addressed controversies regarding Calhanoglu’s absence from the Turkish national team, clarifying that the decision to keep him for training was made by the club's staff to aid his recovery.
