Palmeiras unveils new Italian-inspired kit amid CBF debut ban

Palmeiras and Puma have unveiled the club’s new blue third kit, which honors the team’s Italian roots and the 20th anniversary of Italy’s 2006 World Cup victory. The design features the ‘Croce di Savoia’ (Savoy Cross), a symbol used by the club during its Palestra Italia era in 1916, along with gold typography and an Italian map patch.

Although the kit was scheduled to debut this Sunday against Vasco at Nubank Parque, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has prohibited its use for that match. The restriction is due to technical issues regarding the semi-automated offside technology installed at the stadium.

As a result, the official debut of the new uniform has been rescheduled for August 26, during the club’s 112th-anniversary match against Santos in the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals.
