Inter Milan designer proposes modular crest system for jerseys
Creative designer Alberto Mariani, known as Rupertgraphic, has unveiled a concept for a modular “Jersey Crest System” for Inter Milan. The proposal aims to integrate the club’s rich historical heritage with its modern brand identity.
Under this structured brand architecture, the modern “IM” monogram would remain the central anchor on home kits to ensure brand consistency. In contrast, away and third kits would serve as rotating canvases for the club’s iconic historical badges, such as the Biscione shield or the traditional FCIM roundel.
The concept addresses ongoing debates among fans regarding the 2021 shift to a minimalist visual identity, which largely sidelined the club’s extensive catalog of historical emblems. This approach mirrors branding strategies used by other major European football clubs to balance contemporary marketing with traditional romance.
