Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, 19, has agreed to a five‑year contract with Paris Saint‑Germain, confirming his preference for the French club over a move to the Premier League. The player said the PSG project, manager Luis Enrique and the chance to compete for major trophies and the Ballon d’Or attracted him.

Liverpool had made an initial €100 million (£86 million) bid to RB Leipzig for Diomande, but the German side rejected the offer and values the winger at €130 million or more. PSG have reached a verbal agreement with the player and are now negotiating the transfer fee with Leipzig. Diomande’s decision, announced after his performances at the 2026 World Cup, leaves Liverpool to pursue alternative targets such as Bradley Barcola or other young wingers.

The summer 2026 transfer window therefore sees a major shift in the market, with PSG strengthening its attack while Liverpool must re‑evaluate its squad rebuilding plans under new manager Andoni Iraola.
