Inter aborts Anan Khalaili signing after failed medical exam

Inter Milan president Giuseppe Marotta confirmed that the club’s planned €25 million signing of Israeli right‑back Anan Khalaili was cancelled because the player did not obtain the sporting‑eligibility certificate required by the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI). The medical assessment identified a health issue that, under Italy’s strict athlete‑safety regulations, prevents registration for professional competition.

The failed transfer leaves Inter without a direct replacement for departing right‑back Denzel Dumfries. The club has therefore opened a new search, listing candidates such as English winger Djed Spence (Tottenham), French full‑back Guela Doué (Strasbourg), English prospect Norton‑Cuffy (Genoa) and others. Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio said the team will continue to evaluate options as the summer window approaches its deadline.
