Inter Milan goalkeeper Ivan Provedel to start upcoming matches

Inter Milan manager Cristian Chivu is set to hand Ivan Provedel his official debut for the club in the upcoming Serie A fixtures against Fiorentina and Venezia. The former Lazio goalkeeper is returning to action after nearly eight months away due to a shoulder injury sustained in March.

Chivu reportedly delayed Provedel’s debut to avoid placing undue pressure on Josep Martínez following recent errors. The plan involves Provedel starting the next two matches to regain rhythm, with Martínez expected to return to the starting lineup for the derby on October 31.

Other tactical changes are expected in the squad. Due to an injury to Luis Henrique, Diouf or Spence may feature on the right flank. Additionally, Chivu is considering resting Marcus Thuram by starting the attacking duo of Pio Esposito and Bonny.
