Inter Milan honors Giacinto Facchetti on 20th anniversary of death

Inter Milan has released a tribute to honor the memory of legendary figure and former president Giacinto Facchetti on the 20th anniversary of his passing. Facchetti died on September 4, 2006.

The club recalled the significant events of 2006, noting that the final time Facchetti attended a match at San Siro was on May 11, 2006, when the team won the Coppa Italia against Roma. That year also saw Inter awarded the Scudetto following decisions by the FIGC. Facchetti had described that championship as a ‘scudetto of correctness and respect for the rules,’ emphasizing the ethical importance of the victory during a turbulent period in Italian football.
