Inter Milan locks in €56.5 million Champions League guarantee, eyes pre‑season friendlies
Inter Milan has secured a minimum guaranteed payment of €56.5 million from UEFA for participation in the 2026/27 Champions League, placing the club at the top of Italy’s guaranteed‑prize list. The amount is a base figure that will increase with further progress in the competition.
The club’s pre‑season programme includes a friendly against AC Milan at Perth’s Optus Stadium on 15 August, a match versus Juventus in Perth on 8 August, and a game against Betis in Bari on 15 August. Inter will open the Serie A season on 22 August against newly promoted Monza. Coach Cristi Chiu said that forwards Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram are unlikely to be available for the season opener because they will have only ten days of preparation after returning from Australia.
Chiu added, “It is very unlikely that Lautaro and Thuram will be on the pitch. It would be too risky to let them play after just ten days of training.”
