Inter Milan nears contract extension for Carlos Augusto

Inter Milan is moving to secure a long-term contract extension for Brazilian defender Carlos Augusto. Following a strong start to the season, including decisive performances in Champions League play, the club aims to extend his stay until 2031.

The proposed agreement includes a significant salary increase, rising from approximately 2.2 million euros to 3.5 million euros per season, plus bonuses. Negotiations are reportedly in the final stages, with a formal signing expected within the next two weeks or by the end of the month.

This move follows the player's increased importance to the squad under manager Cristian Chivu, characterized by his versatility across the defensive line and his recent offensive contributions.
