Inter Milan Regains Nigerian Midfielder Akinsanmiro After Pisa Cancels Transfer

Pisa Calcio chose not to exercise the €7.5 million buy‑back clause for 2004‑born Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, allowing the player to revert automatically to Inter Milan’s roster. The decision was made just before the contractual deadline, meaning Inter now holds the option to trigger a counter‑buyout for an additional €1 million before the June 21 deadline.

Akinsanmiro, who spent the previous season on loan at Pisa, has attracted interest from clubs in the German Bundesliga and England’s Premier League. While his future at Inter remains uncertain, the club is expected to consider loan moves with an option to buy during the upcoming summer market. Pisa, recently relegated to Serie B, is also evaluating loan targets for other young prospects.

The transfer saga highlights the complexities of co‑ownership deals in Italian football and underscores Inter’s continued focus on securing promising young talent.
