Inter Milan signs Aleksandar Stankovic from Club Brugge

Serbian midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic, the 2005‑born son of former Inter star Dejan, will rejoin Inter Milan for the upcoming season after a breakout spell at Club Brugge. Inter paid a total of €23 million for the player, a net outlay of €13 million after accounting for a €10 million fee paid to Brugge a year earlier.

Cristian Chivu, who first coached Stankovic in Inter’s youth system, expressed enthusiasm, saying he “can’t wait to see him on the pitch.” The midfielder is praised for his versatility, combining deep‑lying playmaking with more advanced, attacking contributions developed in Belgium. At Inter he could serve as a backup for Hakan Calhanoglu, cover the mezzala role vacated by Davide Frattesi, or provide an alternative to Nicolò Barella on the right side of a three‑man midfield.

Stankovic’s integration is expected to be gradual, mirroring the pathway of fellow midfielder Petar Sucic, but the transfer is seen as a strategic move to add depth and flexibility to Inter’s midfield engine.
