Inter supporter Tronchetti Provera praises Chivu and discusses Serie A

Marco Tronchetti Provera, executive vice president of Pirelli and a prominent Inter Milan supporter, has shared his views on the current state of the club and the Italian football league. Speaking on the program ‘La Politica nel Pallone’, he expressed strong confidence in Inter coach Cristian Chivu, stating, “He is a great coach and can become great,” comparing his locker room effectiveness to that of José Mourinho.

Regarding Inter’s performance, Tronchetti Provera noted the team's positive trajectory but emphasized the need for improved defensive solidity to succeed in European competitions. He remarked that winning in Europe requires a very strong defense to concede fewer goals.

Addressing the broader league, he praised the competitiveness of teams like Lazio and noted the positive impact of faster gameplay with fewer interruptions. When asked about the possibility of Antonio Conte managing Juventus, he stated that he would not be intimidated, adding, “If Juventus becomes competitive with Conte, we will enjoy beating Conte’s Juve.”
