Interactive Brokers adds Bucharest Stock Exchange access

Interactive Brokers has announced the addition of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) to its trading platform, allowing clients to access Romanian equities alongside more than 170 other global markets. The expansion follows a period of significant growth for the Romanian market, which saw its BET index reach record highs and was elevated to MSCI’s Advanced Frontier Market status.

Remus Vulpescu, CEO of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, noted that new gateways are vital for the market, which has channeled over EUR 5.0 billion into the Romanian economy over the last year. The integration aims to increase liquidity and international visibility for Romanian listed companies.

In a separate move to expand investment menus, Saxo Japan has introduced 116 exchange-traded funds (ETFs) covering broad markets, individual companies, and various income strategies. Other platforms, including Gemini, Bitget, Plus500, and Webull, have also reported widening access through different ownership structures.
