Interbank launches ‘Modo Calle’ security feature for mobile users
Interbank has launched ‘Modo Calle’, a new security feature within the Interbank APP designed to protect users against the risks of mobile phone theft. The initiative comes in response to data from Osiptel indicating approximately 4,000 cell phone thefts occur daily in Peru.
The tool allows customers to control their financial exposure while in public by selecting a specific account and a limited amount of money to remain visible and operational. All other financial products and accounts are hidden and disabled for a chosen period ranging from 2 to 48 hours.
Cynthia Vidal, leader of the Digital Channels Tribe at Interbank, stated that the tool provides an additional layer of security, allowing digital users to manage their funds similarly to how one would limit the amount of cash carried in a physical wallet.
