Intercepta integrates compliance tools with Canton Network
Intercepta has integrated its Compliance Engine with the Canton Network, a privacy-focused blockchain developed by Digital Asset. This integration aims to provide real-time regulatory screening, sanctions monitoring, and anti-money laundering (AML) checks within an institutional network designed to restrict data visibility.
Unlike public blockchains where transaction records are broadly visible, the Canton Network utilizes an architecture where transaction information is only accessible to the parties involved. To address the challenge of monitoring private transactions, Intercepta’s tools utilize designated observer roles. This allows authorized institutions to perform compliance duties, such as fund-flow traceability and Know Your Transaction (KYT) analysis, without exposing sensitive data to unauthorized participants.
The development is intended to support banks and payment companies that require blockchain-based settlement while adhering to strict regulatory obligations from bodies such as the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the European Union, and the United Kingdom.
