Interfresh Eurasia agricultural trade fair opens in İzmir
The Interfresh Eurasia exhibition, focusing on fresh fruits, vegetables, packaging, logistics, and agricultural technologies, has opened at Fuar İzmir. The event brings together producers, exporters, and professionals from over 80 countries, with more than 580 registered foreign buyers expected to participate.
During the opening, Turkish Ministry of Trade Export General Manager Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya noted that Turkey's agricultural product exports reached $32.6 billion last year. In the first eight months of this year, these exports rose by 4.8% to $21.7 billion. Specifically, fresh fruit and vegetable exports totaled $2.3 billion during this period.
Northern Cyprus participated as the partner country, with President Ersin Tatar highlighting the importance of production and trade opportunities for the region. Additionally, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Dr. Zafer Levent Yıldır announced that the municipality is preparing an Agricultural Master Plan to support producers and address labor shortages in the sector.
