Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan inaugurates new 60‑place nursery in Bucharest's Sector 6
On 6 August 2026 the Bucharest neighbourhood of Sector 6 opened a new municipal nursery on Bulevardul Iuliu Manei 11B. The facility can accommodate 60 children aged 0‑3 and includes six playrooms, six bedrooms, a medical office, triage room, multipurpose hall, kitchen, bottle‑feeding room, laundry and a civil‑protection shelter. The building, covering 854 m² of constructed area and 2 402 m² of total floor space, is equipped with photovoltaic and solar panels and is surrounded by more than 700 m² of green space and playgrounds.
The inauguration was attended by interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and Development Minister Attila Cseke. Bolojan said the project supports young families moving to the capital and is part of a national programme to build around 100 nurseries, financed by EU funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and government resources in partnership with the National Investment Company and local authorities. Enrollment will be open from 17 to 27 August, with the centre expected to become operational in the autumn.
