Interior design and rental trends in Gdynia and the Tricity area

A new 100-square-meter minimalist apartment in Gdynia, designed by Jakub Szewc, focuses on the interplay of light and geometry. Inspired by Jun’ichirō Tanizaki’s essay ‘In Praise of Shadows’, the design utilizes natural light to model the space throughout the day. The layout replaces the original developer plan with a composition based on straight lines and circles, featuring a double arch finished with veneer to capture changing light conditions.

In the broader Tricity region—comprising Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot—the short-term rental market continues to grow due to high tourism demand. Investors are increasingly looking at property arrangement, location, and marketing strategies to maximize returns on platforms like Airbnb and Booking.com. Success in this market is driven by proximity to beaches, cultural attractions, and public transport.
