Back-to-school tips for optimizing children's study spaces and room environments

As the school year approaches, experts provide guidance on optimizing children's rooms for studying, playing, and resting. Key recommendations focus on ergonomics, organization, and environmental comfort.

For study areas, experts suggest selecting desks with sufficient surface area for books and digital devices, paired with adjustable lighting and ergonomic chairs to support posture during long study sessions. Effective storage solutions, such as open shelving, drawers, and baskets, are recommended to help children maintain order and keep school supplies accessible.

Maintaining a healthy indoor climate is also highlighted as essential for preventing seasonal illnesses. Ideal daytime temperatures for children's rooms are between 21–22°C, dropping to 19–20°C at night. Experts advise maintaining humidity levels between 40% and 60% to protect respiratory health. When using air conditioning, it is recommended to avoid direct airflow onto children and to use air deflectors to prevent sudden temperature shifts.
