Interior design trends focus on color psychology and spatial layout
Interior design trends and the psychological impact of color choices are highlighted in recent discussions on home aesthetics. One featured project involves a 60-square-meter apartment redesigned by Alina Fabirowska. The renovation focused on creating an open, airy layout by removing walls between the kitchen, hallway, and living area to increase natural light.
The design utilizes various shades of turquoise to provide depth and dynamism, ranging from soft tones in the living room to intense, petrol-green hues on the kitchen cabinetry. To enhance the sense of space, the entrance area incorporates built-in wardrobes and mirrored walls to create an illusion of depth.
In a broader context, the psychological effects of color in living spaces are noted. While colors like blue and green promote calmness and freshness, black is often associated with elegance and sophistication. However, experts caution that excessive use of black can evoke feelings of sadness, seriousness, or emotional heaviness, potentially making a room feel cold or cramped. Using black as an accent in smaller items like lamps or frames is suggested to achieve contrast without overwhelming the environment.
