Interior design trends for 2027 favor warm earthy tones

Interior design forecasts for 2027 indicate a shift away from cool grays, whites, and beiges toward warm, earthy, and nature-inspired tones. Experts predict that colors will become deeper and more grounded, complementing natural materials like wood, stone, and metal.

Key color trends include oxblood, copper, pumpkin, burnt terracotta, and various shades of deep green. Sherwin-Williams has highlighted oxblood and mossy greens as significant trends, while Behr has announced its 2027 Color of the Year, ‘Grounded T27-01’, a brownish-green shade between moss and olive.

Other notable colors include salted caramel, which is expected to replace some beige tones, and a versatile ‘mouse brown’—an earthy shade between warm beige and deep brown. Designer Diane Luna suggests that this mouse brown will be particularly popular in kitchens for cabinetry and pantry doors, offering a cozy alternative to cool gray palettes.
