Interior design trends for 2027 are shifting away from perfectionism toward comfort, flexibility, and individuality. As people spend more time working and relaxing at home, there is a growing preference for functional design that serves daily needs rather than purely aesthetic trends.

Dariuss Rimkus, head of the IKEA Interior Design department, notes that consumers are increasingly seeking authentic spaces that reflect their personal stories. This includes combining vintage and modern elements and moving away from strictly neutral palettes. Saturated, warm tones such as earth greens, burgundy, warm browns, terracotta, and creamy yellows are expected to become more prominent in living rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms.
